+## Dropping Support for Objective-C
+
+We are dropping support for Objective-C in Protocol Buffers in the v38 release.
+This follows CocoaPods becoming read-only on December 2, 2026 (as announced in
+2024 [here](https://blog.cocoapods.org/CocoaPods-Specs-Repo/)). There are no
+plans to publish Objective-C to SwiftPM due to lack of demand and support for
+non-ARC code.
+
+Objective-C will remain in our long term support release (37.x) until Q1 2028.
+
