Summary of Changes

Document the reported timestamp offset with PCBUSB 0.13 after macOS system sleep, including sleep before a capture begins. Explain the boot-time conversion, the reported reconnect/log-format limitations, and a diagnostic procedure that accounts for receive-queue delay.

This is a documentation contribution. The runtime timestamp conversion still needs a hardware-validated fix.

Checklist

  • I have followed the contribution guide.
  • I have added or updated tests as appropriate (documentation-only change; existing documentation tests run).
  • I have added or updated documentation as appropriate.
  • I have added a news fragment for towncrier.
  • All checks and tests pass (tox).

Additional Notes

Validated on Linux with Python 3.13.16 and Sphinx 9.2.0, using the project's docs dependency group and canalystii/gs-usb extras:

  • HTML build: python -m sphinx -E -b html -Wan --keep-going doc build/html — passed, no warnings.
  • Doctests: python -m sphinx -E -b doctest -W --keep-going doc build/doctest — 39 tests passed, no warnings.
  • Rendered PCAN section and both issue links verified; git diff --check passed.
  • Full tox matrix not run for this documentation-only change. No Mac/PCAN hardware validation performed.

The driver counter's exact clock domain and handling of queued frames across suspend remain open questions for a runtime fix. The documentation attributes the observations to the reports and makes no claim about Windows/Linux behavior.

Prepared with AI assistance; sources, rendered output, and documentation checks were reviewed.
